My Native American tribe is the Choctaw Indians. They drink plenty of water in the morning to prepare themselves to attack their enemies. Some of my ancestors are Choctaw Indians. My Great Great Grandmother would knit clothing for the village. My history is all about Choctaw and I ‘m proud of my heritage.

I love that I picked the Navojo because I have learned so much about them. One thing is that when they entered their hogans(house),they would have to move clockwise to get to there seat. Also, the woman had to sit on a certain side, the men had to sit on a certain side ,and the honorable guest had to sit west of the hogan. That is fasinating.

The Sioux tribe

The Sioux tribe is a great tribe. The word Sioux came from the word nadewisou. Every person in the tribe would ware braids in there hair. Clothes where decorated with beads. They would get food for everyone in the tribe.

When they wanted something they did not use money, they would barter they bartered food, clothes, and furs.

The Mohawk tribe originally was located in New York and parts of Canada. They were farming people. They planted crops called the “Three sisters.” They were: Corn, beans, and squash. The Mohawks also hunted and gathered. Mohawk men were in charge of hunting, trading, and war. Mohawk women were in charge of farming, property, and family. The Mohawks lived in villages of longhouses, which were large wood-frame buildings covered with sheets of elm bark. The Mohawks

The Cherokee tribe was the first people to arrive in Tennessee great Smokey Mountains about 1000 A.D. They usually are located in fertile river bottoms. Their homes were made out of mud, wooded frames, sapling plastered, and vines. They have 7 clans of the Cherokee Bird, Paint, Deer, Wolf, Blue, Long Hair, and Wild Potato. Their clothes were woven clothes or deer skin. The women wore dresses the men wore pants. They wore different hair styles. The long hair clan wore fancy hairdos. The Blackfoot Native Americans

The Blackfoot Native Americans are residents of Montana and Albert, Canada.

They lived in buffalo hide houses called teepees.

There were certain roles. The mens roles were to hunt, and go to war to defend their families. The womens roles were to take care of the homes.

Their major food source was the buffalo. They used the buffalo skin to make clothing.

The Navajo are part of a tribe who separated long ago. They arrived to what is now North America.

The climate was hot and arid.Their homeland was traditionally located
between four sacred mountains.
Between these mountains were two large basins

Their homes were called hogans. The door would always face east to welcome the sun.

They hunted wooly mammoth until they became extint. Then they started to hunt buffalo, birds, squirrels, and rabbits for food. They also collected maize as their most common grain.

Now the Navajo tribe is currently the largest reservaton in the United States.
