Well , Mrs. Henderson I learned a lot about Native Americans . They are great people . I also learned many things about the Cherokee Indians . My mom told me that her great grandma was a Cherokee . That’s why I , my mom told me to do Cherokee Indians. I printed a lot of things on the internet. Also got a lot of books from the pubic library.

What I learned I have learned about the Mohawk. The Mohawk is very interesting. I have learned things that I didn’t know before. It is all thanks to Mrs. Henderson , she’s the best. When I get done with this project I will know everything I need to know about the Mohawk. We are also learning about the Native Americans (We’re on the ball)!

my family tells the story, that my great grandfather was married to a native american woman in Oklahoma. When she died in childbirth, he left the boy with her family and caught a train. That's how he ended up in Ms. and meeting my greatgrandmother.

Christian, When writing your paper just keep in mind.

* your opening tells them what you are going to tell them in the report.

* the body of your paper tells them

the closing of tells them what you TOLD them in your paper. Just restate the opening, using other words.

The Mohawk tradition homeland was South NEW YORK BY Albany. They cropped a lot, hunted, collected , they collected the three sisters. The three sisters were corn, beans, and squash. When they hunted animals, each person in the community was called an animal. When they got a name they were calleda ''CLANS''. In small villages tehy had about 30 longhouses. In large villages they had about 100 longhouses. The children had jobs to do starting at 8 to adults. They used many resouces to help make things. I used HTTP:www.ask.com for pictures and information.

My summary is all about the Cherokee Indians. The Cherokee Indians originally called themselves the Aniyunwiya, “the principal people”. The Cherokee men wore breechcloths and leggings. But, the Cherokee women wore wraparound skirts and poncho-style blouses. The women harvested crops of corn, beans, squash, and sunflowers. The men hunted deer, wild turkeys, and small game. In war ,the Cherokees fired arrows or fought with a melee weapon like a tomahawk or a spear. A famous Cherokee Indian from modern times is Wilma Mankillern the first woman to be Principal Chief for the Cherokee.

Hopi which means good, peaceful, or wise are part of the Pueblo Indian culture. They lived in Arizona in pueblos, homes made of mud or stone. The Hopi village was built in the southwest desert. There, it is very hot, and what I find interesting was that the women owned the village but the men governed them.the Hopi’s needed rain and they believed that the Kachinas would bring them rain, so the Hopi honered them to try to get rain.

The Hopi Indians

The life of the Hopi Indians was normal. The Hopi lived in Arizona. The men planted crops. People survived by making pottery, clothing, and basket weaving. Hopi ‘s weren’t nomads. There houses were made of stone and adobe and mud. Men wore loose pant and loose shirts .Women wore dresses. The Hopi had many kinds of arts. Men were reliogous leaders and people were divided into groups .Today Hopi children go to school and still live in Arizona on reservations.

The Apache Indians were hunters and gathers. They lived in the plains region of the United States. That region of the United States is now two states of the United States called New Mexico and Arizona. Apache boys were trained for combat at the age of ten. Apache girls worked with their mothers gathering fruits, vegetables, firewood and grasses to make baskets.

Hopi Indians came from a southwestern group called the Pueblos. They were deeply religious. They live pueblos that are made of mud and clay. Corn squash, beans, pumpkins are grown and eaten. Women are designated to take care of cooking, children and the house. Their talents are making baskets, pottery, and painting. The method of basket making has never changed in hundreds of years. There are many religious dances they do, one is the snake dance they do it is a sacred ceremony of the Hopi Indians.
